FRJP - VISION

For well-intentioned folks out there trying to do something about the mess in this world, there are near countless factors working to disengage us. Guilt can easily cripple, and compassion fatigue can crush our most heartfelt responses. How good it is then, that we are not left to our own devices.  An ancient Way, timeless Truth, and liberated Life has emerged as our deliverance…

Into this world where wealth and security for some means loss and exploitation for most, Christ came to proclaim Good News to the poor.

Into this world where locking up neighbours seems more reasonable than getting to know them, Christ came to proclaim freedom for prisoners and restore sight to those blinded by degrading visions of society.

Into this world defaced by greed and swirling in cycles of violence, Christ came to liberate the oppressed and proclaim God’s loving rule and solidarity.

Into this perishing, divisive world order, Christ came to proclaim an Eternal Order that dignifies the downtrodden and re-humanises the rich; a foundation of Love holding all things together.

LECTURES

Throughout the course we’ll be diving into the Gospel narrative alongside powerful spiritual traditions passed down from our family line (the church). We’ll be inviting Jesus the Christ to continually be our guide and teacher, remembering that none but the Lamb are worthy to judge (a.k.a. bring healing) in situations of injustice. Join us, and let this good work begin in us, and into all the world!

WHY THREE LOCATIONS?

YWAM Muizenberg - is a dynamic, multicultural YWAM base engaging with the struggle of decolonizing missions and the ministry of reconciliation. It is a unique environment to talk about Jesus & Justice because of the lived experience of the land; its pains and triumphs, suffering and celebration are an immersive backdrop for the learner.

YWAM Wollongong - over the past decade, Wollongong in New South Wales, has become home to thousands of people from refugee and immigrant backgrounds from around the globe.  The folks who call YWAM Wollongong home are on a slow, deepening journey of solidarity within our neighbourhood and the wider world.  We pursue Jesus’ call on our lives together, as family, learning new and ancient ways to live out of a lifestyle of worship, repentance and peacemaking.

The Foundation for Forgiveness and Reconciliation Project - The Foundations for Forgiveness and Reconciliation in Lebanon (FFRL) believes in identifying all people through a common humanity, seeking to break down dehumanizing perceptions resulting from sectarian division and establishing a path towards social reconciliation through the lens of forgiveness. We work primarily with the emerging generation in Lebanon to overcome cycles of hostility and restore common narratives between communities, equipping the next generation with mechanisms for nonviolent conflict resolution as they take up their various roles and responsibilities in society.
